COMMUNITY PROJECTS

THE GENESEO MEMORIAL FOUNTAIN RESTORATION
The fountain was a gift to the community from the brothers Herbert and William Wadsworth in memory of their mother Emmeline. Emmeline was a passionate animal lover and a fountain where horses could be watered was a fitting tribute to their mother. Examination of the fountain reveals that 120 years of constant exposure to the elements has taken its toll on the structural integrity of the fountain.
The Plan:
Fabrication and installation of a replica of the original gothic torch, replacing the plastic lamp and dangling cord seen today.
Repair to the sandstone cap atop the pillar
Repair and cleaning of the granite basin
The Need:
$95,000. This project will repair and enhance this symbol of our community. APOG is confident that community members will support this special cause. Please consider a special gift to APOG to help ensure the memorial fountain remains a symbol of our community.
